Unrelated, just popped into my head. Roger Scruton is a writer/philosopher from jolly old England. I heard the quote on an NPR show yesterday and when I Googled it, I saw that Roger Scruton gets credit.
So weird. The same reference popped into my head just before I posted my question.
I thought maybe Roger was inspirational to you for more than his spot – on quote.
