Time, it swallows everything.
From the mighty to the meager thing.
It’s as dark as it is comforting,
to play along.

This thing all things devours;
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers:
Gnaws iron, bites steel,
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays kings, ruins towns,
And beats high mountains down.

Time has not been kind to the old Lantz Lumber Co. building, but I love it. I love the boxy shape, I love the brick, I love the windows most of all. I never go by that I don’t imagine upscale condos. (Yes, in St. Albans!)
